Syrian rebels claimed, Monday evening, that they fired mortar shells at the presidential palace in Damascus.

In a Facebook posting, the rebels said, "A number of heavy mortar shells were fired at the palace in Damascus, the road leading to the airport and the buildings of the Syrian security forces in the city as part of coordinated efforts."
