Chairman Naftali Bennett of Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) opened Monday's meeting of the Knesset faction by saying that the party had put coalition talks behind it and it was time to fall in behind Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. He called the party's ministry and committee assignments tools to bring about change, adding, "The economy will serve the citizens. Here's a government with a rare opportunity. No one is obligated [to anyone]. We have freedom of action. We are not obligated to tycoons and not to workers committees. We are committed to the people of Israel and the Israeli public at large. we are like a coiled spring waiting to work and return the economy to the citizens of Israel."
Bennett offered greetings for the upcoming Passover holiday and welcomed the impending visit of United States President Barack Obama, calling the U.S. a true friend and the disagreements between Israel and the U.S. disagreements among friends. Referring to Jonathan Pollard, imprisoned in America for passing classified information to Israel, Bennett closed by saying, "I call for the return of our brother, Jonathan Pollard, as soon as possible."
