Rabbi: Prefer Environmentally Friendly Cleaners

As people engaged in cleaning their homes of chametz (leavened products), ahead of the Passover holiday, Rabbi Yuval Cherlow was asked by the Green Now organization about the use of environmentally-friendly cleaning products.

The head of the Hesder yeshiva in Petach Tikva responded by saying there is no ban in halakha (Jewish law) against the use of those that might harm the environment, especially since they might not be as expensive. At the same time, he said, one should minimize the use of such materials as much as possible so as to protect the world that G-d made.
