Most U.S. citizens oppose Washington's intervention in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, an ABC/Washington Post poll published Sunday has found.

According to the poll, only 26% of respondents believe the United States must take the initiative to solve the conflict, compared to 69% who believe that the United States needs to leave the negotiations up to both sides and not intervene.
