Former Bnei Brak mayor, MK Yakov Asher (United Torah Judaism), and former Dimona mayor, MK Meir Cohen (Yesh Atid), were recognized at a special ceremony on Sunday for the work they did for their cities as mayors. The ceremony was held at the Local Government Center and was attended by outgoing Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, local government officials and mayors.

The chairman of the Local Government Center, Shlomo Bohbot, praised MK Asher and said that he greatly contributed to Bnei Brak, developed the city and brought it to its present status. "I am confident that the representation of the local government in the Knesset and the government will bring prosperity to the local authorities in Israel,” he said.
