A soldier serving at the Kirya base in Tel Aviv threatened to set himself and his commanding officer on fire on Sunday. The soldier spilled flammable liquid over both himself and the officer, but was stopped by several other soldiers in the area. Nobody was injured in the incident.

The soldier reportedly had been angered by the commander’s refusal to release him from service.
