The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday, with modest gains in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,104.53, up .06 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,104.11, including a .04-percent gain to 1,240.51 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The communications stocks led the gainers, jumping 2.53 percent to 517.87, followed by the insurance index, which finished the day at 1,287.57, up 1.25 percent, as the financial institutions declined .17 percent to 1,118.68, including a loss of .85 percent to 1,164.10 by the bank issues. Most of the technology stocks rose .59 percent to 327.21 while the biomed index declined .93 percent to 853.50. The real-estate issues closed at 323.87, up .26 percent, while the oil and natural-gas stocks fell 1.38 percent to 1,132.12.
