Five Indian reserve police personnel were killed and five others wounded on Wednesday when two militants with automatic rifles opened fire on a parliamentary camp in the disputed Kashmir region.
The attack occurred at a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) base just outside Srinagar, the scene of fierce protests and clashes over the past few weeks.
"A division of the CRPF was deployed at a camp here and children were playing cricket in the field when two militants fired grenades and attacked our division," Abdul Gani Mir, Inspector General of Police, told Reuters TV.
