MK Israel Eichler (United Torah Judaism) posed a rhetorical question to the Minister of Internal Security, Yitzhak Aharonovitch, when the issue of Knesset members joining Women of the Wall in holding prayer services at the Wall came up in the Knesset. 

"Are you considering turning over control of the Western Wall to the Muslim Waqf?"

"Police justly prevented MK Moshe Feiglin from entering the Temple Mount last week, but why didn't they prevent the Knesset members from organizing at the Western Wall today? There is order and rules. This is not anarchy and not the city square. There are other places for demonstrations. Religion should be respected via its rules. In the Jewish State there is the feeling that religion is meaningless and tramples over anyone who wants to hurt her. The Israeli police cannot give in to the media terrorism and Knesset members which slander Israel," Eichler said.
