Representatives of the Health Ministry asked the Tel Aviv municipality, Tuesday morning, to hold only one half of Friday's Tel Aviv-Gillette marathon, because of the forecast of Sharav heatwave conditions, according to Israel Defense Forces Radio. The ministry's goal was for the last runner to cross the finish line around 8:30 a.m.
On Monday, organizers announced that the various races in the marathon package would start half an hour earlier than originally planned.
