Light Rail Sells its Chametz via Israel's Chief Rabbis

The heads of Citipass, which owns the Jerusalem light rail franchise, met, Monday with the chief rabbis of Israel at their offices in Jerusalem and authorized them as their agents to sell the light rail's chametz (leavened products) to a non-Jew, ahead of the Passover holiday, when Jews are not allowed to be in possession of chametz. The chametz in question can be found structures along the route, the depot and maintenance center between French Hill and Pisgat Ze'ev, and the company's administrative offices.

The light rail is preparing for the thousands of people expected to arrive in the capital for the holiday.
