Activists from the Zionist Im Tirtzu movement have scheduled a quiet, non-violent protest at the entrance to Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Be'er Sheva', to protest Monday evening's participation of hostile Arab Knesset Member Hanin Zoabi (Balad-National Democratic Assembly-Al-Tajamu' Al-Watani Al-Dimuqrati) in a meeting called "Discussions about Being Israeli" (Sichot 'al Yisraeliut in Hebrew).
The activists noted that Zoabi signed a boycott petition that brought about reduced or eliminated cooperation with Ben-Gurion by foreign institutions of higher learning. The activists explained, in a statement, "The protest is about the absurdity of inviting and giving a platform in the framework of "Discussions on Being Israeli" to an anti-Israeli personality who called for a boycott on Israel, including Israeli academia."
