The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange followed Sunday's positive start to the trading week with slight losses in mixed opening trading on Monday morning. About 25 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,102.67, down .05 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a posting of 1,102.35 for the TA 100, including a .15 percent drop to 1,235.37by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the biomed stocks, which rose .36 percent to 865.94, while the rest of the technology index stood at 323.73, up .04 percent. The insurance issues stood at 1,292.08, up .22 percent, as the financial institutions declined .13 percent to 1,126.21, including a loss of .44 percent to 1,181.33 by the bank stocks. The communications index stood at 507.11, up .09 percent, and the same percentage increase meant a posting of 324.31 for the real-estate issues, while the oil and natural-gas stocks slipped .03 percent to 1,154.40.
