Newly appointed MK Ruth Calderon (Yesh Atid) was surprised this week to find an empty Knesset plenum during a meeting she attended.
Turning to Minister Yuli Edelstein, who was present at the meeting because of his capacity as Minister of Information and Diaspora Affairs, MK Calderon said, "Mr. Minister, Members of Knesset and empty chairs...This is how we look. This is the Israeli parliament and it's empty."
She added, "An empty plenum, in my opinion, is a disgrace to the Israeli Knesset." Calderon wondered how the "employer" of the MKs, the Israeli public, can go to work seriously "when we do not come to the plenum for our three days every week."
