Shekel, Euro Up; Dollars Outpace Pound; Yen Plunges

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .577 percent, Friday, against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.695, down .752 percent, while the Euro declined .241 percent to 4.8383 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5546, down .954 percent, while 100 Japanese yen sank 2.156 percent to 3.866 shekels. The Canadian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.5849, down .728 percent, while its Australian counterpart fell .748 percent to 3.7925 shekels and the South African rand was set at NIS .4058, down .098 percent.
