Hamas Won't Oppose Obama Visit to Gaza

Chairman Aziz Dweik of the Palestinian Authority's legislative council says Hamas won't oppose a visit to Gaza by United States President Barack Obama when he comes to Israel, according to a Friday report by the Bethlehem based Ma'an news agency. Dweik told Ma'an, "Hamas refuses to negotiate with Israel, but would not mind Obama's visit to Gaza, hoping the attitude of the U.S. to the reality [here] will change."

The attitude that Dweik referred to is Hamas's status as a terror group, which won't change until it renounces violence and recognizes Israel and existing agreements between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
