Egyptian police went on strike, Thursday, demanding the resignation of Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim. More than 30 police stations were closed throughout the country and dozens of officers held a sit-in at a Cairo police station, claiming that Ibrahim was working with the Muslim Brotherhood to use the police as part of a political struggle.
The semi-official Al Ahram daily's Website reported that police refused to protect the private residence of President Mohammed Morsi in the Nile Delta city of Zagazig and threatened to launch a strike there on Friday.
