The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday, with modest losses in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,096.96, down .13 percent, while the TA 100 declined .21 percent to 1,096.38, including a drop of .11 percent to 1,226.89 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose a percent to 479.33.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which climbed 1.4 percent to 1,149.07, followed by most of the technology issues, which stood at 323.56, down two tenths of a percent, while the biomed stocks lost half a percent to 858.60. The communications index stood at 506.38, down 1.1 percent, while the same percentage decline meant a posting of 1,166.90 for the bank issues as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,111.27, down 1.27 percent, including a 1.47-percent fall to 1,275.63 by the insurance stocks and the real-estate index closed at 324.66, down 1.43 percent.
