Shekel Up; U.S. Dollar Outpaces Euro, Pound; Yen Dives

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .209 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.723, down .081 percent, while the Euro declined .206 percent to 4.85 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.6081, down .283 percent, while 100 Japanese yen sank .888 percent to 3.9512 shekels. The Australian dollar was fixed at NIS 3.8211, down .162 percent, while its Canadian counterpart fell .254 percent to 3.6112 shekels, and the South African Rand plunged 1.432 percent to NIS .4062.
