The historic Benyamin region of Samaria was toured by former Major General Uzi Dayan on Wednesday. Dayan has served in public capacities as an advisor in numerous areas since leaving active duty. He is currently the chairman of Mifal Hapayis, the national lottery, which helps fund education institutions throughout the country.
He and his team visited with the Binyamin Regional Council and toured the many historical sites in the region such as ancient Shiloh, the location of the Biblical tabernacle. There was also a basketball game between local students and members of the Hapoel Yerushalayim team.
The tour also visited to Arab settlement of Rawabi, currently in the stated of being built and planned as the largest Arab city in the region. They also met with residents of Migron.
