Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid signed the petition Wednesday morning calling for the immediate release of Jonathan Pollard from U.S. prison.

Lapid spoke about his meeting with Pollard's wife, Esther, during which he spoke to Jonathan on the phone, saying, "the conversation with Pollard continues to echo in my head," he said.

 "The broken, expectant voice, fearful for the moment when he tells himself that he can't go on any longer. Usually I do not sign petitions, but this time I signed," Lapid said.
