President Shim'on Peres sent a condolence letter, Tuesday, to the family of Rabbi Menachem Froman of the Judean community of Tekoa, who passed away, Monday evening, after a long bout with cancer.
Peres wrote, "Rabbi Froman was a remarkable man, a great believer of Torah and a great believer in peace. His entire life was peace, all his paths were peace. He saw a friend in everyone, and refused to mark a person as an enemy forever. He found ways to the hearts of bitter enemies and tough opponents, and everywhere he had a fight he tried to settle it with great spirit and great wisdom. Rabbi Froman was never afraid to be alone, providing he was right. I will always remember him as a rare bright countenance, refusing to give in to prejudice and drawn-out antagonism. Rabbi Froman was a scholar and Heaven-fearing person who taught Torah to many. Extending you a warm handshake, may you know no more sorrow."
