Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest gains. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,092.27, up .48 percent, while the TA 100 rose half a percent to 1,092.81, including a .45-percent gain to 1,223.48 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 slipped .06 percent to 470.88.
Leading the gainers was the bank index, which advanced half a percent to 1,173.15 as the financial institutions stood at 1,112.85, up .41 percent, including a rise of .21 percent to 1,258.60 by the insurance issues. The biomed index stood at 853.20, up .45 percent, while the rest of the technology issues edged up .06 percent to 322.24. The oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1,159.72, up .43 percent, followed by the real-estate index, which was up .35 percent at 326.01, and the communications issues, which gained .29 percent to 504.93.
