President Shimon Peres on Tuesday will travel to Europe for a diplomatic visit to the European Union where he is expected to take part in a round of meetings dealing with policy and security.

Some of the main issues discussed in the meetings will be the Iranian nuclear issue, possible chemical weapons stockpiles in Syria and Lebanon, promoting talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority and the strengthening of ties between Israel and the EU.
