Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Monday-morning with modest to moderate losses. About 90 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,082.86, down .2r percent, while the TA 100 declined .27 percent to 1,082.99, including a .29-percent loss to 1,212.59 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The lone bright spot was the 50 stocks just outside the TA 100, which rose a quarter of a percent to 469.52.
Worst hit was the bank index, which fell 1.55 percent to 1,153.57 as the financial institutions stood at 1,098.36, down a percent, including a .41-percent decline to 1,252.74 by the insurance issues. The communications stocks stood at 502.41, down .61 percent, followed by the biomed index, which lost .21 percent to 846.22, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 320.92, down .03 percent. The real-estate stocks lost .12 percent to 323.31, while the oil and natural-gas index slipped .09 percent to 1,156.67.
