Former Deputy U.S. Defense Secretary to Meet PM, Peres

Lawrence Korb, who was Deputy Secretary of Defense at the time Jonathan Pollard was arrested for passing classified information from the United States to Israel, is scheduled to update Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shim'on Peres, Monday, on his latest meetings with senior American officials and significant developments regarding efforts to obtain Pollard's release. On Sunday, Korb met with Supreme Court Justice Eliyakim Rubinstein, who served at Israel's embassy in Washington, DC at the time of Pollards arrest.

Pollard has been behind bars since October 1985, serving a life sentence on his conviction in the case. Proponents of his release hope that President Barack Obama will pardon Pollard and bring him on this month's scheduled visit.
