Yesh Atid Supports Rabbi Stav for Chief Rabbi

Rabbi Shai Piron, who was the number-2 candidate on the Yesh Atid party's Knesset list, announced, Sunday evening, that the party was supporting the candidacy of Chairman David Stav of the Tzohar rabbinical organization to be the Ashkenazic chief rabbi of Israel. Rabbi Piron said the party sees a great value in Rabbi Stav's service and the service of his children in the Israel Defense Forces, combined with his greatness in Torah and involvement in Israeli society.

Yesh Atid joins Yisrael Beyteinu in supporting Rabbi Stav. Also running are Rabbis Ya'akov Shapiro and Eliezer Igra.
