The number of people unemployed or laid off from their jobs remained stable in January. There was a slight decrease of 0.2% in unemployment; in total, 189,200 people were categorized as unemployed in January.

Layoffs were also down by 0.2%, with a total of 12,500 people losing their jobs over the course of the month.
