Egypt Hit by Massive Swarm of Locusts

Farmers in the Giza region of Egypt are suffering from a sudden attack of locusts. Egyptian officials had not been expecting locust swarms on the scale of those that hit.

The swarm plaguing the region numbers an estimated 30 million bugs and is doing massive damage to agriculture in the area, officials said. They called on residents of the region not to try to drive away the locusts themselves in order to avoid doing further damage.
