Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid spoke Saturday night about the possibility of establishing a government without any of the hareidi parties.
"People say we reject the hareidim. Obviously it's not true. We do not reject or ban anyone, and we certainly do not hate anyone. It's odd to me that I keep explaining to the hareidim that we do not hate them, but they continue to insist that we do. I can not understand why anyone - individual or group - will do everything in his power to convince himself that he is hated," said Lapid.
"It will not help them. Every Jew in the world is my brother, and I will not surrender to this discourse of hatred," he continued. "I also think that our world would be poorer without Torah scholars. That does not mean they are unable to work or join the army, but the study of Torah is fundamental to Israel and we would have no Jewish existence without the Torah," said Lapid.
