Hundreds of Paelstinian-Arabs clashed with Israeli forces on Saturday amid calls protesting Israel's treatment of prisoners.
An AFP correspondent said some 300 Palestinian-Arbss threw stones at soldiers and blocked streets in Hawwara, south of Shechem, at the end of a rally marking
the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine's 44th anniversary.
Rioters held pictures of Samer Issawi, a DFLP member, who is held in an Israeli prison and has been on an intermittent hunger strike since August.
He was one of the terrorists released as part of the deal to free Gilad Shalit, but was later re-arrested based on claims that he violated the agreement of his release.
An IDF spokeswoman said that two Palestinian-Authority residents had been detained at the site, but the army had not yet decided whether to arrest them.
