The official value of the shekel declined an average of .228 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.723, up .405 percent, while the Euro rose .132 percent to 4.8693 shekels.
The pound was set at 5.6469 shekels, up .279 percent, while 100 Japanese yen declined .142 percent to NIS 4.0178. The Australian dollar gained .166 percent to NIS 4.0178, while its Canadian counterpart lost .133 percent to 3.6156 shekels. The same percentage loss meant a fixing of NIS 3.9785 for the Swiss frank. The South African rand plunged 1.479 percent to .4129 shekels, while the Swedish krona rebounded from Thursday's loss to climb 1.061 percent to NIS .5812.
