It appears that Likud-Beyteinu, Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) and Yesh Atid will soon agree to 21 as the maximum age for deferral from military service, according to a Tuesday-morning report by Ma'ariv/nrg.
The age is believed to be central in the issue of increased hareidi-religious inductions, also known as equal burden of service. Negotiating teams from Likud-Beyteinu and Habayit Hayehudi arrived at the number following intense negotiations, in which Habayit Hayehudi presented Yesh Atid's stance. It represents a compromise between Yesh Atid's target of 18-years-old and the Likud-Beyteinu proposal of 24.
