Youth from the Maagalim youth group working with the Tzela (Citizens for Improving Society) organization brought a special kind of Purim joy to the city of Kiryat Shemona in northern Israel. Youth prepared packages of mishloach manot, the food gifts given on Purim, and stood in the local mall offering people a chance to send packages to their friends.
Passers-by were asked to think of someone they know who they would like to make happy, and a story involving that person. The young volunteers then delivered a food package to the person in question.
Assaf Weiss of Maagalim said, “This creative initiative is exactly the idea behind Maagalim: to bring people together, to care for one another and give to society.”
