Purim Joke by Be'er Sheva Mayor Alarms Residents

For the Purim edition of the Be'er Sheva-baed newspaper "Sheva," Mayor Ruvik Danilovich said in an interview that he plans to leave the city and move to another place of residence.

The statement was meant as a Purim gag but many alarmed residents did find the statement funny, leading the mayor to release a statement reassuring the public that it was all meant in good fun.

"The story that was published is a joke for Purim. It is not my intention to even consider leaving the city of Be'er Sheva and its residents for any other position," Danilovich wrote.
