Israel’s Social Services Ministry is in contact with the 12-year-old Israel boy discovered recently living at a Buddhist monastery in Thailand, Yisrael Hayom reports. Social workers have written up a questionnaire to be given to the boy in an attempt to assess his situation.

The boy was sent to Thailand by his parents after undergoing treatment for cancer. His parents claim that a Buddhist monk is treating their son by giving him “life energy.” The parents continue to live in Israel, but say they take turns visiting their child.
