Shekel Slips; Euro Outpaces Pound, US Dollar, Yen

The official value of the shekel slipped an average of .05 percent Friday, against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.71, up 1.007 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro climbed 1.161 percent to 4.8984 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.6663 shekels, up 1.159 percent, while 100 Japanese yen rose .816 percent to NIS 3.9798. The Australian dollar jumped 1.518 percent to 3.8246 shekels, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.6404, up .999 percent, and the South African rand climbed 1.359 percent to .4177 shekels.
