Ban Ki-moon Condemns Damascus Bombing

Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations condemned, Friday morning, Thursday's car-bomb attack attack on Damascus that killed at least 53 people. Ban said, in a statement, that the use of violence in Syria will only lead to more suffering and destruction.

On Thursday night, the UN Security Council failed to reach agreement on the wording of a resolution condemning the attack. Countries were divided, based on their support of President Bashar Al-Assad or the Syrian opposition.
