Senior Hunger Striker to be Released in Two Weeks

Senior terrorist hunger striker Samr Issawi was sentenced, Thursday, to eight months in prison. Because the sentence is retroactive to the day of his arrest, he will be released at the beginning of March.

Issawi, who comes from a family of Democratic Front terrorists in the eastern-Jerusalem village of Issawiya, was originally sentenced to 26 years in prison in 2002. Released in October of 2011 among the 1,000 prisoners exchanged for abducted soldier Gil'ad Schalit, he was re-arrested last July.
