An eight-year-old girl from the Arab village of Deir al-Asad in the Galilee was found in her school’s library on Wednesday evening, several hours after being reported missing.

Carmiel police, who received a call notifying them that the girl had been missing since late afternoon, immediately launched an extensive search for her. She was found in a state of panic and returned to her parents.

Carmiel police have opened an investigation on suspicion of negligence.
