Romania Detains Pair for Ovum Trafficking

A physician and his technician of the ‘Med New Life’ fertility clinic in Romania are suspected of paying local women 600-800 euros for ovum extraction, prior to selling them to Israeli fertility patients for 3000-4000 euros, in violation of the Romanian Transplant Law. The Court has ordered the pair remain in Romania pending due process. (Yediot Aharonot)
