Iraq Approves Construction of Iran/Syria Gas Pipe

The Iraqi Cabinet announced Wednesday that it approved plans to build a natural gas pipeline, which would connect Iran and Syria. Iraq's oil minister will give his final approval to the plan which will cost an estimated 10 billion dollars. The pipe, which will be 1,500 kilometers long, will supply gas from the huge gas field in southern Iran to Syria.
