Professor Raphael Ron-El and Dafna Komarovsky, who were arrested in Romania on suspicion of being involved in the illegal trafficking of human eggs, were released from detention Wednesday morning.
Their Israeli Passports were returned to them, but were ordered not to leave the country.
Dr. Benny Davidson, director of the hospital, "Assaf Harofeh," where they both work, expressed his confidence that the two are innocent.
"Professor Ron-El is among the most well known, intelligent doctors in his field and is known for his personal and professional integrity. We hope to see them back in Israel, safe and sound, as soon as possible. "
