Transport Minister Israel Katz has threatened to bring a libel suit against journalist Hanoch Daum for suggesting that the MK is behind a smear campaign against Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar. 

The threat follows a statement made by the journalist on a Wednesday morning news program hosted by Orli and Guy Meroz.

Daum said the minister behind the attacks on Sa'ar is "a plump girl named Israel Katz." 

The statement was interpreted as a joke and Daum quickly moved on to the next topic, however as the program continued the show's host told Daum they received word from Katz who said he did not find the statement to be funny, was not behind the letter, and intends to sue Daum.
