2012 saw a 58% increase in the number of anti-Semitic incidents in France, according to a new report, published on Wednesday, by the security unit of the Jewish communities in France. 

According to the report, there were 614 anti-Semitic acts against the Jews of France in 2012, compared to 389 in 2011.

The report stated that 2012 "was a year of unprecedented violence against Jews in France."

A majority of the attacks were verbal but there was a significant number of physical assaults as well.
