Egyptian intelligence chief, General Mohammed Rafat Shehata, met with Israeli senior defense officials in Cairo at the beginning of the week, for the the first time since he was appointed to the position last August, Wallah reported. 

According to the report, sources in Cairo said Shehata, who oversees the Egyptian intelligence apparatus, spoke with Israeli officials for several hours about security arrangements in the wake of Operation Pillar of Defense. The sources said that Shehata gave the Israelis a list of requests from the Egyptian and Palestinian-Arab side relating to easing the transfer of goods into Gaza.
