Shas leader Aryeh Deri spoke with Tzipi Livni Tuesday night and congratulated her on joining Netanyahu's coalition government.

In response, Livni said she expected Shas to also sign a coalition agreement in the coming days.

"Based on her experience, Tzipi Livni certainly will contribute a lot to the challenges ahead. Israel today needs a government that can unite the divided nation and not cause controversy and a discourse of rejection," Deri said.
