Prison Workers May be Indicted for Zygier's Suicide

An investigative report into the suicide of "Prisoner X," written by Judge Daphna Blatman-Kadrei, of the Rishon Lezion Magistrates Court, placed the blame for Ben Zygier's suicide on prison workers, saying they fell short in their duties to maintain 24-hour surveillance on Zygier.

"You can examine the fault of other factors who were involved in watching over the deceased, including the senior command. Ultimately the state should reconsider its position on the prosecution," the judge added.

The state allowed only the partial release of details from the report, maintaining that key details could not be published due to a possible investigation into a negligence case in Zygier's suicide.

The state has not yet announced if it will move to indict anyone.
