Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday morning trading with modest gains. About 20 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,086.91, up .15 percent, while the TA 100 rose .16 percent to 1,088.57, including a .14-percent gain to 1,220.22 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the financial institutions, which advanced .35 percent to 1,115.55. The bank component stood at 1,174.27, up .26 percent, and the insurance stocks rose .24 percent to 1,270.37. Next came the biomed index, which was up a quarter of a percent at 850.56, while the rest of the technology issues slipped .02 percent to 323.72. The real-estate stocks stood at 322.13, up .16 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index lost .08 percent to 1,116.37 and the communications issues stood at 499.82, down .34 percent.
