MK Ben-Dahan Calls for Equal Burden in First Speech

MK Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan (Bayit Yehudi) took advantage of his first speech at the Knesset on Monday to emphasize the importance of having hareidim share the burden of army service.

Rabbi Ben-Dahan said that “without the Torah, there is no existence for the nation of Israel and it is like a body without a soul.” At the same time, he stressed that as a former IDF officer who “combined Torah study and army service,” he is calling to on the hareidi public to share the burden of serving in the army and joining the workforce.

“Any Torah study that is not accompanied by work ends up being null,” he stressed.
